Different IVF Stories

A few of these IVF stories are shown below in the hopes of inspiring couples who are undergoing the same fight.

  • Kristi

For 7 long years Kristi and her husband tried to conceive through the natural way. They went through so much heartache and disappointments that they decided to give up on it and try IVF. Luckily for them the first cycle worked and blessed them with a beautiful baby girl. After 3 years they decided to try it again and now she is 14 weeks pregnant.

  • Melissa

Melissa, at age 41, has history of PCOS, high FSH, and endometriosis. She went to several clinics but all told her that it's impossible to conceive without using donor eggs. But she insisted on using her own eggs and they went looking for another clinic. She found a clinic whose doctor is ready to take chances. They started her with Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) but the first two IVF sessions failed because her eggs are not viable enough. They tried again 5 months later and luckily she got pregnant. Now she has a 10-month old baby boy.

  • Helen

Helen and her husband tried to conceive for 2 years before they decided to get help. They went to a fertility clinic and discovered that her husband has low sperm count with poor quality and advised them to take IVF with ICSI. Because IVF is quite expensive and they can't afford it they tried insemination and Clomid but nothing happened. With all the frustrations and heartaches they took a break from the treatments. During the break, she got pregnant but miscarried after 9 weeks. So then they decided to undergo IVF. Eight out of 12 eggs turned to embryos. They implanted the 4 best and froze the remaining 4. She got pregnant but lost it several days later. They decided to take another break wherein she conceived but miscarried again. They tried IVF again but still with no positive results. They were deeply devastated and in debt so they decided to stop. They remember their four frozen embryos. So they used them for one last shot. All four were transferred and now she has a wonderful baby girl.

All these couples have different IVF stories but they all experienced a long, crazy heartbreaking journey. But they wouldn't trade it for anything else. These IVF stories are for couples who are struggling. These remind them to keep their faith and everything will come in its own perfect time. With the help of science, prayers, and positive thinking anything can be possible.
