Testing usually includes semen analysis, blood hormone test, blood test, hysteroscopy (HSG), screening for Chlamydia infection, transvaginal ultrasound scan, and in some clinics, screening for HIV, hepatitis B and C is mandatory.

What is the time duration for an IVF cycle?

How many embryos are allowed to be transferred?

The number of embryos transferred varies depending on the woman's age, cause of infertility, number of IVF attempts, and percentage of multiple pregnancies. Usually, doctors transfer 3-6 embryos.

What happens to my unused embryos?

Unused embryos are frozen or cyropreserved for later use. You have the option to donate them as well.

Is bed rest necessary after an embryo transfer?

It has not been proven that bed rest increases the chances of implantation, but for the feeling of security, doctors usually advise their clients to avoid any strenuous activities after embryo transfer.

Can I have sex while on an IVF treatment?

No direct evidence has shown that intercourse can cause miscarriages or IVF failure. But to be cautious, try to abstain from sex for at least two weeks.

How much does one IVF cycle cost?

One regular IVF cycle would cost around $10,000 to $15,000. Additional services like ICSI procedure, FET and genetic testing are paid separately.
